City of Arabia CSR

Today there is an increasing public expectation that large companies are aware of their social responsibility and environmental impact and the Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari Group, developers of City of Arabia, take this responsibility seriously. City of Arabia has always been keen to support events that uphold sporting, cultural and social interests of the UAE.

Following the disastrous Tsunami in Asia in late 2004, City of Arabia decided to sponsor Dubai’s new A1 racing car when it was tested at the Dubai Autodrome, since all the sponsorship fees were sent as contributions to the Tsunami Relief Fund.

In 2006 City of Arabia started the year by sponsoring the three-day Women’s Education Worldwide (WEW) conference, “Women’s Hopes and Dreams”, held at Dubai Women’s College (DWC). The event brought together leaders and administrators from renowned women’s colleges and universities from all around the world building bridges between international women students.

City of Arabia continued their 2006 programme by supporting the prestigious United Arab Emirates Handball Federation H. H. U.A.E. President Cup competition held in June  at Al Nasr Leisure Land Club. This was followed by an initiative which focused on the youth of the UAE, with a co-sponsorship of the 1st Saeed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Summer Camp. The camp was set up to help the youngsters make the most of their summer break with a range of activities intended to improve their social and sporting development.

City of Arabia has continually demonstrated its concern for those less fortunate by taking part in a number of events, that have provided aid to many charity organizations. Under the umbrella of Gulf for Good, City of Arabia took part in the Musandam kayaking challenge in aid of children’s charities and the Al Noor Association for the blind in Oman.  Other activities included a charity golf tournament, the Tournament of Roses, at the Montgomerie Golf Course in aid of the City of Hope shelter for women and children.
